Sedation Options

Our office offers Oral Sedation and Nitrous Sedation.

Oral Sedation:  The oral sedation option is at no extra cost for you.  You will need someone to drive you to the office and pick you up after your treatment appointment at our office.  You are required to come to our office one hour before your scheduled treatment time, at this time the oral sedation will be administered to you.  The oral sedation is taken orally and will make you feel relaxed and drowsy. You will be monitored for one hour and then brought into the treatment room to proceed with the endodontic treatment.  The medication will wear off up to and within 14 hours after your appointment; however, we recommend that you DO NOT drive for the rest of the day and have an adult stay with you until the drug wears off.

Nitrous Sedation: The nitrous sedation option is an extra cost.  You will not be able to eat or drink 3 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time.  You will not require a driver.  The gas dissipates from the body within 3-5 minutes after administration has stopped and the effects are rapidly ceased.

When scheduling your consultation appointment please notify the administrator if you are interested in some type of sedation for any endodontic treatment.  The Endodontist will discuss the sedation options with you in full and go over your medical history to determine the best sedation required for you.
